WordPress is the most popular content management system in use today, with 51% of all websites globally using the platform. Its popularity is partly due to the fact that it’s open-source (built using PHP and MySQL), and partly because it’s lightweight with a user-friendly interface. WordPress users can install one of many pre-built WordPress themes, modify a skeleton theme, or build an entire theme from scratch. There are also thousands of WordPress plugins (such as contact forms) that are readily available, and can often be installed in a couple of clicks.
