WordPress is the most popular content management system in use today, with 51% of all websites globally using the platform. Its popularity is partly due to the fact that it’s open-source (built using PHP and MySQL), and partly because it’s lightweight with a user-friendly interface. WordPress users can install one of many pre-built WordPress themes, modify a skeleton theme, or build an entire theme from scratch. There are also thousands of WordPress plugins (such as contact forms) that are readily available, and can often be installed in a couple of clicks.
Do you know any WordPress resources that should be added to this list? If so please contact us and provide the theme or plugin details with a few notes explaining what you like about it.

WordPress shortcodes are small snippets of code that allow content editors to be able to insert WordPress plugins or code functionality into the content area of a WordPress page.
WordPress plugins are complete pieces of code, that create an app to perform a function on a website. A typical plugin might be something like a ‘contact us’ form.
Plugins are useful because they reduce the need to write complex code from scratch for a piece of functionality that is already commonly used. Many WordPress themes come pre-installed with the most useful plugins.
